About COBO Center
COBO Center, situated in downtown Detroit Michigan, is one of the largest convention centers in the nation and is currently undergoing a $299 million dollar expansion and upgrade that includes 2 massive exterior GableVision digital displays.
The first GableVision digital display was recently switched on and has already changed the building from a static façade to a vibrant energetic environment. It reflects the vision of the convention center and the conferences who exhibit there such as the renowned North American International Auto Show.
PHASE 1 - Washington and Congress St.
Positioned on the corner of Washington and Congress Street, the custom built GableVision LED display captivates people in the area by its size and lively content which expands over 3000 sq. feet. Over 2 million high brightness LED lamps allow for colorful and vibrant photos and video content to be played. The display was also designed to allow 51% light transmission from the outside into the atrium which allows daylight to pass through even while the display is operating.
PHASE 2 - W Jefferson Avenue
Currently in progress, the second phase of this project features the largest of the GableVision Digital Displays, spanning across 160’ x 30’. The massive custom designed LED display will be installed on the east side of the convention center overlooking W Jefferson Avenue which runs underneath the COBO Center offering enormous visibility. Similar to Phase 1, this display also allows daylight to pass through the sign and into the building.
The new #cobocenter exterior video board (2,800 square feet) on the corner of Congress St. and Washington Blvd. is causing a big sensation! When our marquee board (6,000 square feet) becomes available later this summer, the possibilities will be endless. #cobocomeback Take a look:
