Opened in 1983 and owned by Turnberry Associates since 1996, the mall has established itself as a trend setter in the shopping mall sector. The three-story mall offers more than 300 retailers, a movie theater, restaurants and even serves as a transit hub for domestic and international visitors from some of South Florida’s most affluent communities.
Recently, the mall chose GableVision to utilize the latest in technology to upgrade its shopper experience for the thousands who visit Aventura Mall each day.
When looking for a provider of high resolution digital products and an experienced team to offer ideas and solutions, Turnberry Associates turned to GableVision. Offered by GableSigns, the GableVision brand encompasses a unique blend of technology, digital components, and digital marketing artistry.
After 3,500 man hours on the part of more than 16 GableVision team members, including specialty equipment operators, certified installation crews, AV technicians and veterans of LED dynamic displays, Aventura Mall was left with a vibrant new look and a digital experience that keeps the mall ahead of the game in its industry.
The new LED digital environment created at Aventura Mall consists of full-color, 6mm high resolution displays placed throughout the mall. Providing stunning clarity, the displays were also manufactured to automatically adjust brightness as natural light comes and goes from the mall’s skylights.
Displays at Aventura Mall range from 150 to 500 square feet each, offering the mall a vehicle to display advertising and art in key areas of the mall.
Each display was customized to fit every element of the mall, with some displays curved and others manufactured
to fit between areas or on bulkheads.
Behind the scenes, GableVision added approximately 1,940 pounds of heavy wall steel to the mall’s existing steel framing to ensure prior to installation the LED screens were secure and supported properly.
In addition, GableVision’s skilled technicians strategically positioned 16,000 lineal feet of primary electrical and data cabling throughout the mall to provide power and data communications capabilities for each of the individual LED displays. The displays are fitted with full monitoring software with the capability of detecting the outage of a single LED pixel.
With its latest improvements, Aventura Mall equipped with a dynamic system of signage that offers mall operators a revenue producing vehicle and visitors with an immersive digital experience the moment they step foot inside.
